This beautiful tapestry was first painted and dyed with natural ingredients found in the Peruvian Amazon rainforest and then topstitched /embroidered.
The patterns inside the circle are a type of design called Maya Kené which is a modern geometric Shipibo design and the outside is called Xao kene, which is the milenial ,ancestral Shipibo information.
It was handmade by Silvia Ricopa a native Shipibo master woman of the community of Cantagallo
